Enniscrone/Kilglass Development

In 2020, Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA club was awarded €195,000 by Sligo Leader for development of a new clubhouse and community facility. The old dressing room building, which was first erected in the late 1980s, served the club well for over 30 years.

However, now recognizing the need for a new facility, the club has put together ambitious plans for a state-of-the-art dressing room complex, with a community room upstairs facing out towards the playing pitch.

Including four dressing rooms, showers, toilets, treatment rooms and storage facilities on the ground floor, the second level will provide a large room which can be used for any amount of community activities. Already, several groups have expressed an interest in using the facility.

In addition, the club also has tentative plans to floodlight its main playing pitch for the very first time. Just under €40000 in Sports Capital funding was awarded to the club for this venture and the committee is currently exploring the possibility of advancing the project.

Along with the indoor astro-turf, which was completed in 2017, the club has put an enormous amount of time, energy and resources into developing our facilities. We are very grateful to all of those who have contributed in any way, whether it be financially or through voluntary work to bring all of this to fruition.

The conclusion of the current work will ensure a lasting legacy for those involved and a suite of facilities that will cater for dozens of club teams from U-6 to adult each year in the coming decades.
